Obertus Monasteries

Sascha Vykos, methuselah and once one of the brightest minds of Constantinople and the Dream. He served the Dragon and is rumored to have spent time conversing and meditating with Tzimisce himself. He is also rumored to know the ancient's resting place. Vykos was dedicated to preserving knowledge within Constantinople, and, with the city's fall to Crusaders in 1204, he has relocated to safer areas among Greek Orthodox monks. He was able to predict the conclusion of events in Constantinople throughout the 12th century, and so most of the knowledge he guarded is now safe in Eastern Europe.

The Obertus Monasteries is a tiny kingdom in what is now known as Hungary. It is a land of scholarly Cainites prone to introspection and contemplation. It should have been an easy victory for the Tremere and Ventrue in the Omen Wars, but the information protected within the monasteries gave Vykos and his ilk enough leverage to ensure the kingdom was acknowledged as neutral ground. The journey is arduous, but Cainites still travel from all over the continent and from Northern Africa to spend time in Obertus libraries while Cainite monks furiously work to copy the information in their possession as another safeguard.
